Mind Fitness & the Eternal Mind

Past Life Regression: Why the Right Order Changes Everything

Regression is a genuine tool with real power. What decides whether it delivers isn’t the technique or the practitioner — it’s whether the channel between your eternal mind and your physical mind is open before you begin.

If you are looking into past life regression, you are probably looking for something specific: a fear that has never made sense, a pattern that repeats no matter what you do, a pull toward a place or a person you cannot account for. The hope is that somewhere behind it is an experience that finally explains you.

In over 30 years of helping more than 6,000 clients, my position on this has become quite precise. The eternal mind is real, its memory is real, and regression can be a genuinely powerful tool — but its reliability depends almost entirely on when it is used. Done at the right point, the probability of a real and useful result rises dramatically. Done as a first step, it tends to produce something vivid, moving, and largely constructed by the mind that was asked for it.

This isn’t a criticism of the technique or of anyone practising it. It is a point about sequence — and sequence, in this particular work, turns out to be everything.

What Actually Determines the Result

There is a research unit at the University of Virginia School of Medicine called the Division of Perceptual Studies. Founded by Dr. Ian Stevenson, it has spent around sixty years doing the most rigorous academic work anywhere on cases suggestive of reincarnation. These are not skeptics — this is the group that has taken the subject more seriously than anyone alive.

And they have never used hypnotic regression in an investigation. Their reasoning is worth understanding properly, because it points directly at the condition that makes regression work.

Stevenson’s observation: the hypnotic state resembles dreaming, and in it the subconscious mind readily constructs vivid, coherent narratives. Suggestion — explicit or entirely unintended — shapes what appears. Content often traces back to something the person genuinely encountered once and cannot consciously recall. And the emotional intensity of the experience, however overwhelming, offers no assurance in itself that a real previous life has been reached.

Read that as a statement about the state of the mind being asked, rather than about regression as a practice, and it stops being a debunking and becomes a specification. It tells you exactly what conditions you need to change.

Why the State of the Mind Decides What Surfaces

Hypnosis raises confidence and receptivity together. That is what makes it such an effective instrument for change — and it is also why the state you bring to it matters so much.

A mind still living in emotional dependency is a mind that is seeking. It wants explanation, reassurance, evidence that things will be all right. Ask that mind, in a highly receptive state, for a past life that accounts for its suffering, and it will willingly supply one — in detail, with feeling, and with complete conviction. That isn’t a failure of the person or the practitioner. It is simply what a dependent, unmanaged mind does with any invitation to fill a space.

Change the starting conditions and you change what comes through. A person with genuine emotional independence is not looking for rescue. A person who manages their own mind is not generating narrative to soothe themselves. The seeking has stopped, and so has the manufacturing.

A practical caution either way. Stevenson also recorded occasions where the “previous personality” did not simply recede afterwards, leaving people in an altered state for days. In my experience this risk belongs almost entirely to the unprepared mind — another reason the foundation matters. If you are currently unwell, in crisis, or working through active trauma, please speak with a qualified professional before undertaking regression with anyone.

The Eternal Mind’s Four Roles

In the framework I work with, you are not only a body and a mind. You are an eternal identity currently operating a temporal one — and a clear relationship between the two is what everything else depends on. That relationship has four jobs.

The Parent

Your physical mind has the emotional age of a child, and it behaves like one when nobody is parenting it — frightened, demanding, looking outward for reassurance. Your eternal self is the adult in the house. A great deal of inner chaos is simply a child left in charge.

The Owner

You are not your anxiety, your habits or your history. You have them. Ownership is the difference between “I am broken” and “something I own needs attention” — and only one of those positions can actually repair anything.

The Captain

A mind without direction loops. It circles the same worry endlessly because it is waiting for a decision that never comes. The captain sets the course — and the moment direction arrives, the noise drops.

The Emotional Provider

This is the one almost everyone is missing. Your sense of being safe, valued and settled has to be supplied from within. When it is outsourced — to a partner, to approval, to achievement, to food — you are living in Adult Emotional Dependency, and every channel inside you is busy scanning outward for supply.

When those four are in place, the relationship between the eternal mind and the physical mind is no longer theoretical. It is operational — and the line between them is clear.

Why an Open Channel Changes the Odds

Your eternal mind carries what it has learned — across this life and, in my understanding, before it. That memory is not stored in your brain. It is held somewhere your brain can reach, but only under the right conditions.

Emotional independence and mind management are those conditions. They are what clear the line between the two minds. And once that line is clear, the probability of regression producing something real and genuinely useful rises exponentially — because you are no longer asking a seeking mind to invent, you are asking a settled one to remember.

The sequence, plainly: emotional independence → mind management → an open channel → reliable access. In the right order, regression becomes a precision tool. In the wrong order, it is a vivid experience that rarely changes anything, because the material it produced was never the material you needed.

It is worth adding that most of what sends people looking in the first place — the unexplained fear, the repeating pattern, the block you cannot argue yourself out of — resolves in this life, at the level of the emotional structure holding it. You usually do not need a previous life to explain it. What you need is the child relieved of command.

Past Life Regression, Used at the Right Moment

This is the part that both the enthusiasts and the hard skeptics tend to miss, and it is the genuinely interesting territory.

Once the foundation is in place, I do offer regression as part of the work — not as an entry product, but as a tool for clients who have reached emotional independence and want to go further. At that stage two things become possible that were not available before.

The first is bringing learning forward. Capacities, understanding and hard-won wisdom held in the eternal mind can be recognised and applied to the life you are living now. Not as an interesting story about someone you used to be, but as something you can actually use this week.

The second is clearing genuine residue. Where there is real trauma carried from before, it can be released — because you are finally working with something actual, rather than with a narrative your mind assembled to satisfy the question it was asked.

Used this way, regression does not have to carry the whole weight of someone’s healing. It becomes what it should have been all along: a precise instrument that improves an already solid result. You can read more about that territory in Discovering Your Spiritual Identity.

The Foundation That Comes First

The foundation is a structured 13-session programme using CognitiveOS Hypnosis® and the Bosurgi Mind Fitness Method®. It is a sequence rather than a collection of sessions — each stage rests on the one before it. It restores your eternal self to the four roles above, dismantles emotional dependency, and hands you working control of your own mind.

Two things shape how this tends to go. The first is that I take roughly two out of every three people who approach me. That is not gatekeeping for its own sake — this work depends on readiness, and beginning with someone who is not ready serves neither of us. The consultation exists partly so we can both find that out honestly.

The second is what the method is actually doing. It is not installing anything new or foreign. It resets the mind to how it is meant to run according to nature — the eternal self in its proper position, the physical mind parented rather than left in charge, and the genuine needs of both finally met rather than managed around. When you stop working against the design and start working with it, results typically exceed what people came in hoping for — because most people arrive hoping for relief, and what they find is the structure that makes relief hold.

If you would rather begin on your own, The Mind’s Manual Course teaches the same foundation as a self-directed path.

What People Actually Come Back For

Almost nobody arrives asking to be the captain of their own mind. They arrive wanting an explanation for why they are the way they are. What they discover is that once they are steady from the inside, the thing they wanted explained has usually stopped happening — and that anything they then choose to explore, including what came before, arrives clearly and can actually be used.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer past life regression?

Yes — but not as a first step or a standalone session. I offer it to clients who have completed the foundation and established a clear relationship between their eternal mind and their physical mind. At that point it becomes a genuinely valuable tool that improves the overall result. Offered before that point, it tends to produce experience rather than change.

I already had a regression session. Was it worthless?

Not at all. Whatever surfaced was produced by your own mind, and what a mind chooses to construct usually says something true about what it is carrying. Treat it as a dream worth interpreting rather than a history to verify. And if the material was real, it will still be there — clearer — once the channel is properly open.

Are you saying reincarnation isn’t real?

Close to the opposite. My entire framework rests on the eternal mind carrying experience beyond a single lifetime. My point is narrower: reaching that memory reliably depends on the condition of the mind doing the reaching, which is why order matters so much.

How do I know whether I need past-life work at all?

Most people don’t, at least not to resolve what brought them. The fears and repeating patterns that send people looking almost always turn out to be held by an emotional structure in this life. Address that first and they release. If something older genuinely remains, you will be far better placed to work with it — and you will be able to tell the difference.
